These frozen blackberry margaritas are made with fresh and frozen blackberries, so they're bursting with flavor in every sip. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your margarita glass and dip in sugar for an extra pretty presentation!
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the blackberries, sugar, water, and lime.
Bring to a rolling simmer, then reduce to the heat medium-low and continue simmering, gently mashing up the blackberries with a wooden spoon, until the sugar has completely dissolved and the mixture thickens, about 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove from heat and strain through a fine-mesh strainer, squeezing out as much blackberry juice as possible. Pour into an airtight container and store in the fridge until chilled, or up to 1 week. Stir well before using.
For the Blackberry Margaritas:
In the body of a large powerful blender, combine all of the blackberry simple syrup with the tequila, orange liqueur, juices, frozen blackberries, and ice and blend until smooth and slushy! If your mixture looks too thin, add more ice until desired texture is achieved.
Garnish:
To sugar the rim of the glasses, place the sugar in a wide shallow dish. Run the edge of a lime around a glass, then dip the glass into the sugar. Repeat with all glasses.
Pour the frozen margarita into the glasses, then garish with extra blackberries and a lime wedge. Serve at once!
