This is the sauce you make to say “I love you” with no words.
This is the sauce you make to say “Maybe I am a little too jealous, and read into things a little too much, and am ridiculously passive aggressive… but look – I made you this sauce because I think your really neat and special and cute”
This is the sauce you slather on chicken or ribs or tofu and wait for the high fives to start rolling your way. They’re gonna be rolling in heavy – be prepared.
This is the sauce that had single men in their 30’s talking about marriage, albeit not the one I want, but still – damn good sauce.
This is the sauce to salute Summer and send it off with warm memories and satisfied stomachs.

Man, I just want to make a whole pot of mini meat balls for this!
Oooh Sarah – that’s an amazing idea for this sauce!
Oh wow, that looks amazing! I just looked through your last few updates and I’m amazed at how pretty all your food is. You have my hungry, haha!
Thanks Rach! You’re so sweet, and I’m glad I have your hungry!!
Mmmm! Ive never made homemade bbq sauce but it looks like an awesome idea!!! Deliciousness
Erica – it is so simple, and seriously takes about the same time as getting to the store and buying the bottle would; the taste of homemade is so much more flavorful than the bottle stuff.
Loved your description. I’ve needed a sauce like that quite a few times!
being good in the kitchen can get you out of those “uh oh” moments a little easier 🙂
You’re so so sweet! Thank you!
The BBQ sauce looks so delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Amelia; it was so delicious and I’m pleased to have a jar in the fridge for back up!
Holy cow, I wish I’d known about this a week ago! I went to my first and only BBQ of this fast dying summer and this sauce would have been a HUGE hit. Definitely something to bookmark for next summer though (or perhaps I can just slather it on some ribs and cook up a little storm in my oven here instead 🙂 )
Charles, don’t wait another year; slather this on some slow roasted ribs and indulge yourself in an amazing dinner!
This sounds really delicious. Can’t wait to try it on some grilled chicken!
It tastes amazing on grilled chicken!!
I dont think i could even begin to guess how godly this sauce tastes but my goodness would I like to find out!! Your photos are, as always, simply stunning also – i mean you make a brown gloopy sauce look GOOD, that takes talent! 🙂
Aww Sasha, you are so so sweet! Barbecue sauce is such an ugly model… but it’s taste makes up for its lack of beauty.
Love, love, love this barbecue sauce and I think my hubby might forgive anything if I made him some of that.
Hi Geni! I think your hubs would love this too; I’ve never met a man that doesn’t like barbecue sauce – homemade and having a good amount of bourbon in it takes this one over the top. I want to smother everything I eat in it, and it makes a lot so you’ll definitely have enough to bottle up and save for later.
