Heeeello, friends!
Today, I’m gushing all about my all time favorite “bar” treat – the blondie! Ooooooh how I love blondies! They’re totally addicting and so simple. The perfect treat! Sometimes we make them once a week… and then eat them all. For reals. Are you a fan(atic) for these sweet little squares, too?
I just made this candy bar speckled batch this morning, but these malted kit kat babies BLEW my mind so much I knew I had to share immediately. They’re incredible! And the chocolate drizzle… (which is also malted!), oh my gawd. Seriously good stuff!
I hope you guys have a safe and fun Halloween planned for tomorrow!? Let me know that you’re getting up to! I’ll be finishing off the tray of these blondies and probably going into the city to check out some of the crazy festivities. We’ll see!
Happy Humpday, my pretties! xo
Malted Kit Kat Blondies with Malted Chocolate Drizzle – Baker by Nature
Ingredients:
For the Malted Kit Kat Blondies
2 sticks (8 ounces) unsalted butter, melted
2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup malted milk powder
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
18 fun-sized kit kat bars, 14 for the pan and 4 roughly chopped
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F). Line a 2.2 (11″ x 7 “) quart baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease. Set aside.
In a large bowl cream melted butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. Fold in malted milk powder. Add eggs, and beat well.
Gently stir in flour and salt, stirring just until the flour begins to disappear.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Lay the kit kats on top of the batter, then add the remaining batter, smoothing the top once again. Sprinkle with chopped kit kat bars.
Place pan in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is nice and golden and the middle is not wobbling. Cool completely before cutting into squares and drizzling with chocolate malt sauce.
For the Malted Chocolate Drizzle:
2 ounces dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons malted milk powder
Instructions:
In a medium-sized microwavable bowl, combine the chocolate and oil, and microwave in 20 seconds increments until chocolate is completely melted. Add malted milk powder, and whisk until smooth. Drizzle on top of cooled blondies.
Malted and blondies are two words that belong together! I am going to have to stash all the Kit Kats bars so that I can make these blondies.

Ooh these look good! I don’t see to many recipes with kit-kats and I’ve yet to try one out myself, but these look like a good starting place.
These look fantastic! I love malt powder and am always looking for new ways to use it. Thanks for the inspiration! Will definitely be trying these soon!
Can I be your new best friend? 🙂
I’m a big fan of malting ALL THE THINGS. It makes them infinitely more delicious. Maybe I should also start kit kat-ing them….
Oh wow, these blondies look like the partly raw texture that I love. Yummy and so perfect for halloween leftovers!
My husband is a Kit Kat fiend and would love these blondies! Thanks for a great recipe!!
They sound really good, but I really don’t like malted anything. Can you subsitute something else or just leave it out completely? They really look yummy!
Hi Lindy!
I think leaving it out completely would work fine; although I can’t be 100% sure. Let me know if you give them a try.
Where do u get the malt powder from
Hi! They sell it at my local grocery store in the same section as chocolate milk mix, etc. Also you can order it online.
Thanks I figured I’d have trouble finding the malted milk, now I know where to look at least. Thank you!
Can I use regular powdered milk instead of malted powdered milk?
Hi Jackie. I haven’t tried, so I can’t say for sure, but I think it should work 🙂
Hi there
Can you use Horlicks ?
Is this what you mean by malted milk powder?
I am in UK you see..?
I’m unclear about what the consistency of these should be. I baked mine until they were brown on top (almost burnt) and it’s still super gooey and there is melted butter is everywhere.
