My love for pistachios runs deep. I love them in cookie bars, pound cake, and fudge cups… but my favorite way to consume them? By the handful! They make for an amazing snack that’s healthy, fun to eat, and delicious!
Today I’m super excited to be teaming up with the Pistachio Health Institute to celebrate the year of the skinny nut! I’ll be sharing with you my all-time favorite pistachio pairing, as well as some fun facts about these superstar nuts.
Pistachios are an incredibly easy nut to consume on their own, but I’m a more is more kind of girl, so I love making little snack plates and pairing them with a few other tasty treats!
My favorite combo? In-shell pistachios + Dark Chocolate + Fresh Strawberries + Mint Tea = Mega YUM!
Pistachios are an amazing everyday healthy snacking choice for when you’re looking to satisfy a salty craving the smart way! Did you know you can enjoy 30 pistachios for about 100 calories? I call that winning!
Pistachios are a top food trend for 2015 and considered to be “The Nut of the Year”. They’re known as the “Skinny Nut” because they’re one of the lowest calorie, lowest fat nuts and offer more nuts per serving compared to most other snack nuts, and among the highest in protein. So be sure to swipe up a bag and get snacking!
Question: What’s your perfect pistachio pairing?
I highly recommend trying them next to some juicy strawberries and rich dark chocolate next time you need to satisfy your sweet and salty tooth 😉 xo
Be sure to head over and enter The Year of the Skinny Nut Sweepstakes hosted on the Pistachio Health Institute Facebook page for a chance to win a year supply of pistachios and start 2015 in style! Sweepstakes runs from January 7 – January 31, 2015!

I found this whilst looking for a healthy way to boost my calorie intake as I’m roughly getting around 700 right now at a push 800. I’ll definitely try the pistachio and strawberry idea as I love both. Lovely photos and a well written post! xx

Your photographs are beautiful! Being from NY, have you ever heard of Stew Leonards? It might be a drive for you, but it’s an awesome grocery store. There are a few here in CT and they sell pistachios in bulk. It’s extremely dangerous!
